Terry Newton, I'll answer your question with this one, Can you make anything out of a hopeless rust bucket? If you have one like that, scrap prices are up right now. I wonder how many people have looked at my request for a WC63, you're the only one who has seen fit to try to be smart about it, I don't have time for junk like this, & I would think you could find a better way of amusing yourself.

Hey Terry, I have time for junk like that and hopeless rust buckets:-) In my opinion there is no such thing as a hopeless rust bucket, unless you are out to make a profit(which there is nothing wrong with). Please forgive me for wasting everyone's time on this board.

In the future I will not ask for any clarification when a person says they want to turn left AND right at the same time.

I would not think of wasting anyone's time when they are so uptight they have not time to discuss the fact that the truck they are looking for is sitting about 3 hours driving time from MY house.

Not to mention the fact that the guy just told me ONLY two weeks ago that he was thinking of selling the truck b/c it "rides too rough."

Instead, I will continue helping those that have helped me, and welcomed even my criticisms with open arms b/c they are mature enough to know that when someone says "Are you sure you want to go left AND right at the same time," it is b/c they might actually care!

I was out there last March for a sales meeting. We were discussing trading trucks, so he probably kept the meeting secret.

Word is he is investing heavily in the storage industry. :)

OK, I admit I posted the want ad in a hurry, maybe I should have worded it different. I said I was looking for the truck at the request of a client, that client is only interested in a truck that is what he wants. I will consider all trucks as our choices are obviously limited, but if you happen to have a hopeless bucket of rust, don't bother, because that's not what the client would be interested in is the statement I was trying to make. Maybe this is a little easier to understand. The guy is wanting a truck with a warranty. I'm looking for something good enough that we can possibly give him the product he wants without having to do a 100% restoration. I'm well aware that I'll have to do extensive inspection & repairs to be able to offer him what he wants. This is a full time business for me, the way I make my living, & yes I have to make a profit in order to do that, or I have no business. I know that for the majority of you guys it's a hobby, you can certainly afford to look at it with a different point of view. I have to have a view point of being able to give the client what he wants, when he wants, how he wants. I'm willing to try my best to do that, maybe my message is somewhat clearer for you now. This is a hard one to make happen considering the choices of good trucks out there, the options I have on providing the vehicle as he wants it, & being able to do it at a cost the client will be responsive too. If a client drives up at the shop tomorrow with a hopeless bucket of rust wanting it restored, I'll stop what I'm doing to discuss the project, park it in the field, & we'll start on it as soon as possible regardless of the time it takes or what it cost, I'm in business to give my clients the truck they want. I truly don't have time for discussion when people call the shop wanting to sell a WC63 that obviously won't make the grade for a deal such as this, as business is good & my schedule is tight. Once again this is why I included the statement "please no hopeless buckets of rust." My apology if I came back a little on the strong side, I hope after the above explaination you can see why I viewed your question as I did. Thanks, Charles Talbert
