  • Wheel bearing seal

Anybody have experience with single lip vs double lip wheel bearing seals? I am doing brakes and need to replace all the seals. Spindle contact area looks good with no grooves
    Thanks

I like using double lip seals whenever possible. The hub seal is exposed to dust from the brake shoes and drum, so I think a double lip seal would be good in that area. When I run a double lip seal I always put a thin layer of grease on the rubber and on the shaft to help lube the outer lip, since it will otherwise be running dry.
