Looking at the Laycock version has anyone installed a Gear Vendors unit on a Civilian Power Wagon? I see where they look very similar.

Theres a brownie box for sale near me. Trying NOT to buy it, even though I know I want it.. because its cool!

If someone is interested, I can share the contact. The owner is very unclear on what he has but he wants $1200 for it in Central Va. It looks super clean.

Matt, from what little research I have done the Gear Vendors unit won't fit onto a NP200 or 201 because of the difference in shaft splines. If a guy had a NP205 in his truck it would bolt up just fine. If GV could be persuaded to cut a coarse spline on their input gear, it would be a bolt up unit for the 200 and 201.

Can the input gear for the 200 be swapped with one from a 205? Or are the internals that much different? I know that they share a lot of similar features.

Or how about an adapter spud shaft similar to how the Bronco Dana 20s functioned? The spud had its own tailshaft adapter housing that would mate to the output and pattern of the transmission? Or now are we getting too long for the front of the T-case to remain divorced?

The Gear Vendors overdrive mounts to the output side of the transfer case. Some people say internal parts will swap between the 200 and the 205, others say not. I've never tired so I don't know. If you could put the upper input/output gear cluster from a 205 into a 200, you could mount the GV overdrive to the back of the 200 and have overdrive in 2wd.

Or you could swap a divorced 205 into a Power Wagon. The hardest part is finding a conversion u-joint for the intermediate shaft and output shafts. The 205 has fine spline shafts, so the 200/201 yokes won't fit.
