  • Replacing stop light switch on 41 WC.

I have a 1941 dodge weapons carrier. I am trying to replace the stop light switch that is on the top of the master brake cylinder. Its very tight to get any tools in .I have tried vice grips, liquid wench but to no avail.

There is a special socket for the switch.
Same type socket for sending units.

Or keep trying with vise grips or the like.

Tool store, Auto parts, Napa, CARQUEST, etc.

Also posting in the correct sub forum, ie WC ,Power Wagon etc.,will yield better results.

          socket

some are just a regular hex I believe 1 1/16". usually the older the switch more likely to be regular hex. the later ones are hex with relieved points. the 1 1/16 deep socket will sometimes work on those as well but the special socket works better
