  • Love at first sight

Saw a nicely restored M37 (didn't know WHAT it was at the time) about 12 years ago here in the Metro-Boston area and nearly crapped my pants. I could not believe such a beautiful truck existed. I started a bit of research and the love/admiration only grew. My Dad has a fully restored '51 Willys Jeepster that I learned how to drive on. With today's cars too complicated to work on oneself, I really appreciated the older technology. I knew that someday I'd get my hands on something old and simple.
When I knew that I was eventually going to move back to rural NH, I started to look for one more seriously and stumbled upon my M43 by accident.
My wife can attest that I am obsessed with it and indeed I daydream about it constantly. There is something so simple and honest about these machines. I think restoring mine will help me slow down and appreciate life a bit more.
There is also the bad factor. No truck looks as mean, sturdy or purposeful, in my opinion.
