  • 2001 Dodge Ram

    I have a 2001 Dodge Ram and I can always feel hot air coming out of the vents and out the floor vents. Even when I have it shut off, vacuum leak? Also when driving down the road and when I go up a hill when cruising about 55 or so and when I have to give it a little more gas, the hot air reall comes out. But when I get up the hill or let off the gas, I can hear a door close under the dash. Any help would be great.

    With out having the control scematic on what doors are naturaly open/closed, and in the "off" position what doors are held shut by vacuum, it's hard to say, but it's lily you have a vacuum resivor that's no longer properly working to hold the HVAC vacuum while under low engine vacuum conditions. On the 94's the vacuum reservoir is located under the wiper cowl at the base of the windshield. I'd look to see if it's and any of the vacuum check valves are still working properly.
    I drive a DODGE, not a ram!

    Thanks,
    Will

      Yes its a vacuum issue.
      Uphill = low manifold vacuum
      Downhill = high manifold vacuum
