I got a kick out of seeing this Power Wagon on the cover of the June PWA
magazine. I grew up in a neighboring town and remember seeing it around
Alfred over the years. I graduated from Alfred State in the early '80s. There
was an article on this truck in my hometown paper last month. Alfred State has
always been known for its Auto Tech campus in Wellsville, NY where I grew up.
The main campus is in the town of Alfred, NY.... a small little town.

The Power Wagon was first owned by the private Alfred University before being
handed over to the state college.... right across the main drag in the town
of Alfred. The private college, Alfred University, has a very well known
    ceramic engineering curriculum.

John, Thank you so much for sharing that history.

The Power Wagon world is both so very large and small at the same time.

                  From the Great Race:

                  Mike says...
The Alfred State Power Wagon team would like to extend a heartfelt THANKS! to our many supporters. The team successfully completed the 2015 Great Race from Kirkland, MO to Santa Monica, covering 2,300 miles during the rally. I am happy to tell you that as of this week, Alfred State has registered to participate in next year's Great Race. We will form a new team, and our intent is to let the mighty Power Wagon prove itself once more. The 2016 Great Race goes from San Rafael, CA to Chicago on the Lincoln Highway.
Again, thank you for helping our student team have the experience of a lifetime! By the way, we do not have addresses for all donors.
