  • Tranny shaft side to side play

    Good Day
Does anyone know how much side to side movement you can have on the tranny shaft at the end of the shaft?

    Thanks
    Ken

Not sure what shaft you mean, the rear output where the yoke is?

You would not want any movement sideways or otherwise.
Make sure the Yoke nut is tight if this is the one you mean?

        Sorry
I'm talking about the front shaft going into the flywheel.

Ok Still should be very little to none.
I would check the front bearing for wear.
          There known to be noisy.
Also one of the two snap rings behind the front retainer are known to break or wear out there grove.
There is needle bearings inside the other end of that input shaft.
Be careful you don't loose them.
I would pull the front retainer and at least make sure the rings are in place.
