Does anybody know on a 97 Dodge ram Rearend what the sensor or the top does? I have heard it is for the the speed sensor if so what is the VSS in the transfer case for?

I believe it is the ABS sensor.

depending on the system in your truck the rearend sensor can be for the VSS - ABS or a combo of both / depending on 2 or 4 wheel ABS
its mind over matter/ if you dont mind it dont matter
l have just about every FSM from 1960 to 1993 w/ 72 to 93 Parts Man and 86 to 93 Wiring Dia on CD
