my dad has an m725 with the m series alternator in it, it's been acting up, he recently replaced the batteries in the truck, now it's not charging, do you have to polarize these? or is there any way to troubleshoot one? I'd appreciate any help, matt

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

      nevermind

after starting the truck a few times trying headlights and playing with the adjustment the truck is now charging, not sure why but pop's happy.

Likely was something loose or a bad ground. Bad grounds are notorious with those. To put it clearly, they MUST have a really good common ground, clean and sure. He might want to insure all is good in that area, before it loses it and acts up again.
