  • Throwout Bearing Replacement

    1960 PG W200 P318

My truck is making a lot of noise when the engine is running, and it goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed. I'm assuming this is a failing TO bearing.

What is involved with its replacement? Can it be done without removing the engine and/or trans?

    Any thoughts?

Sounds like it's the transmission not the throwout bearing. The throwout bearing would make noise with the clutch depressed. You will have to pull the trans in either case to inspect. With the transmission out you can then inspect the clutch, bearing, and transmission.
