  • Problem w/mounting a 25amp gen

We bought a 1953 M37. It had the rectifier, Voltage regulator and the original 25AMP generator removed and replaced it all with the newer 60AMP altenator. So I got rid of it and going back with the 25AMP generator and voltage regulator minus the rectifier.

My problem is that when I removed the 60AMP altenator and cleaned up the mounting bracket I noticed that it has been cut and rewelded but didn't think real to much about until I mounted the 25AMP generator. Now the 25AMP generator pulley is about a half pulley grove less then the crank & water pump pulleies.

Question! do I need a special 2 grove pulley to match up with the crank & water pump pulleies or a mounting bracket or maybe both?

My proposed soloution! Is remove the mounting bracket from the block and cut slots in the mounting holes or pull the generator pulley and install a spacer.

Thanks for letting me pick your brain, Joe
