`58 Power Wagon named Al resurrection

I picked up this truck not needing another truck as I already built a `71 Power wagon way back but fell in love with this one at first site. I am the second owner. The man that bought it new which I never had a chance to talk to must have really loved this truck just by looking at all the things he did to it.
When I picked it up it didn't run and the usual no brakes, and full of wasp nest everywhere including in the carburetor and intake manifold. But when I popped the hood for the first time and saw a Hemi in there I didn't care if it had a Black beer living in it I wanted it.

It had a very old welder in the back that came out before I bought it so I think the owner liked to weld or was a welder by trade. By looking at the custom bumper and things he welded up on over the years he was a good stick welder too. The wheels are modified for wide tired not sure what he needed that for but they are there and I plan on putting some stock ones soon.

I plan on not restoring this truck just keep it looking like it does and fix everything, to make it road worthy again.

Stay tune

Andy

Wheel and hub before taking front brakes apart to see what lurks in there, nothing working that's for sure

Nice find! That looks like an original grill guard, which if I am not mistaken, is hard to come by.

Great truck! One of my favorite body styles. What's the tonnage rating?

engine fire up vid

After a intake removal and cleaning of dirt, valve adjustment, new carb and air cleaner not correct but works, oil flush, lube cylinders.

It fired right up!!!

All of the tin on engine is chrome with silver painted block, I bet that looked killer back when new. Not sure if to polish up or just leave as is.

The saying "you ain't cool if your chrome don't shine" but that is allot of up keep. haha

Wheels

Got the old tires off my new to me wheels, and there was some water in there so I have some rust to deal with but still seem very solid and rings look nice and seats.

What color did these come on front?

I picked out this Krylon color # 1507 Propane tank white because I had a can :) and it looked fairly close to bumper and grill color, it looks better in person I think. I POR-15 the center inside to protect the already rusty area.

What do you think?

Maybe after they get dirty a bit it will match up to the truck.

Looks like a close enough match. Nice truck!
