  • Pics of Brother's powerwagon Please advise!

    Hey guys,
I'm gonna see if I can figure this pic thing out. I hope they come thru. Please let me know some info on this truck and what it might be worth.
I have other pics and extra parts too. Let me know and I'll send other pics.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    So post some more pictures

And list the parts that come with the truck . Shots from the inside of the cab . tailgate , box sides would all help . Several pictures of the engine compartment and all loose parts would be helpful too . What i see looks like #5 but more and better pictures would help .
Do you have papers ? Any NOS parts in boxes ?

You might search on the truck for ANY metal data tags, dashboard, glovebox, firewall etc. that can give hints as to model/series & equipment. Even it it's all numbers it's possible to decode them.

The serial number on the frame will be on the drivers side, close to the shock mount. It appears to be an early 60's version (no cowl lights) and the bed might be a custom dump rig.

Funky lookin water pump set up too! Gotta hear the story on this truck...

More pics and finally found paperwork on this truck!

          Hey guys,
Went back over to my brothers to get more pics and the tarp was off the truck and looks like someone had taken the hood off and maybe something off the engine. I can't really tell what's gone. The hood was laying over on the ground. He has an extra hood anyway. They have robbed his place 3-4 times. Vultures. Anyway, I found the paperwork where he bought it and registered it with an antique tag and its a 1964 one ton Model WM300. It's in rough shape. But I'd still love to see someone with it that would love to do something with it. Appears the rear bumper and tailgate were stolen too. Don't know why anyone would want those except maybe to scrap. Vultures. Makes me sick. Anyway, give me some ideas on what I could ask for this truck, it needs to go off the property. Help! I don't know if any of you would remember my brother, his name was Richard Davis and his email (don't know what his name was on here) was Its2farout. Do any remember him? He sure loved these trucks.
          Thanks,
          Michelle Davis

looks like they grabbed the rear fender too .

Does it have a radiator or grill ?
To be honest if the truck is sitting out of the way and you are not around to watch it you could end up with nothing but scrap . Based on what you have posted I would try and sell it fairly quickly.
If it has the radiator overflow tank or window washing tank on the firewall the value goes up a tad . It is the small stuff that helps clinch a deal - even with a parts truck . If the window frame is intact and rust free and all the winders are in excellent shape the price could go up too.
So 1200 bucks for what you have shown might be fair . If the floor is totally gone the price goes down , If the bottom of the doors are gone the price drops , if the transfer case shifters trans and driveshafts are there and your pictures fairly represent the overall condition then 1200 is about right .
If you find the missing fenders , rad and shell and the body is better than it looks then you could go up in price .
This is just a guess .
Personally i would put it up for sale in the PWA and pay Power wagon page 20 bucks for a photo add and take the best offer under the 1200 bucks asking that you get in a given amount of time . Say 6 months . Do not post your time limit just write it down.
            Disclaimer
This is only a totally rough guestemit as to your vehicle value .
I was dropped on my head as a youth .
            I am brain damaged .
I do large amounts of drugs.
I totally unqualified to make any recomendations as to vehicle value .
I live in Canada , we think differently.

              What Bruce Said

I gotta agree (w/the other Bruce, he's Canadian) you need to move faster than the Vultures!

The dump bed is actually a G518 WWII 1-ton Ben Hur trailer tub. The tailgate to it was worth ~$150-200 in good shape. The rear fenders to it are worth at least $100 each. I doubt they were grabbed for scrap.

I would definitely offer the bed seperate from the truck - put it on EBay, the CCKW forum, G503 (best bet), and/or WWII Dodge forums. It will sell - too bad about the pricey parts stolen off it.

Look around for the trailer frame front section. Why? The pintle (ring on shaft to pull trailer) is worth $100, the frame bracket ("V" shaped thing the pintle bolts to) is worth $100, and the landing wheel assembly that attaches to the frame bracket is another $100 - so for the G518 trailer, these 3 parts are a quick $300. However, based upon the thefts so far - I would assume the vultures grabbed them if they were present.

                  Thanks for the info guys

As you can see from the first 3 pics that was taken last year and the last 3 that were taken the other day, several things are missing. I didn't even notice the fender was gone. I guess they got that when they got the bumper and tailgate. Also, my nephew just told me tonight that the radiator and grill were up against the house on the back and they are both gone too. So guys if anyone wants a good deal and lives close enough to get this truck, just email me and we'll talk. I have a set of disc brakes for this truck (it's here at my house) that are brand new in box that he paid almost $1000 for. Don't know where he bought them or I'd just try to return them and hopefully get a refund. I'd love to catch the vultures doing this. They've ramsacked his house and garage stealing welders and power tools and surveying equipment. It's a shame. Oh well, I really appreciate all the info you all are giving. He also has a old truck that I think is some kind of powerwagon that I believe is an old ambulance or something. I'll take pics and show you. Someone ask me about the floor and it is gone on both sides. The middle is still there with the stick shift thing. The back glass is cracked but the other is good and the doors are good. Any other questions?

                    Your Bro's Affairs

                    Hey Michelle,
I'm assuming that you have taken over your brother's affairs/estate? I would not hesitate contacting the local Jandarme's, those critters are going to pic you dry!
The brakes are not returnable,(my guess) I'm sure they are from Ray Suiter, they will/should sell quick & easy, his bid'ness is called Heilatool .

                      More pics

Yes, I am the administrator of his "estate". I also have joint custody of his now 17 year old son. The property (3 acres and shack) will be his once he turns 18. We are just trying to raise money to finish paying for the headstone and the rest derived from scrap metals etc can just go in his bank accout. Trust me, nothing really to speak about but the land is the main thing. I have another $1400 to pay to the funeral home. If someone would give me $1800 for the truck, I would throw in the brakes. I'll try to go over and get pics of that other truck he has and put on here. Another guy said the bed might be worth more than the truck. Go figure. I'm just glad ya'll know about this stuff. It really helps. I'll try to look around for extra parts. I know he had different stuff according to his son.

Bed - if the trailer tub has red plastic or glass side reflectors that feel like raised marbles - they are a collector idem. (Amazingly no repro versions out there yet). I can't tell from the driver's side photo if it is a marbles type reflector. A marbles type reflector will bring at least $50, may may bring $100+. I hope the greedy vultures are not reading this forum!

BTW: Ray Suiter of Helitool moved to Southest Asia. He kept his website up - www.uglytrucking.com, so you may look up the price for the disc brake kit and download installation instructions that should have been included with the kit if your brother purchased it from Ray. Tim Peterson used to make the kits in the ~1980-1990s - so that is another source possibility.

Need someone to make offer on this truck!

                            Hi guys,
It's me again, I really need to get rid of this truck and don't want to scrap it. I also found a stainless set of windsheild wiper motors that he bought and never put on. Also that new brake system. So someone think about this and email me with an offer. I don't know anybody that would appreciate it more than you guys on here. If all else fails I will put it in a truck magazine or something.
