  • not sure how it started

i'm not sure if i should blame it on my grandpa or my dad. my grandpa didn't have any power wagons, but had alot of old mopars. he had some 50's n 60's era dodge dump trucks in his fleet. the last truck he bought was 79 d100 it's still sitting back in the woods and will run but has the sw pa cancer bad. the only other one of his trucks we have is a 55 2 ton dump which my dads redoing.

but i think the power wagon bug can be blamed moreso on my dad when i was a kid he'd take me snowplowing in his company truck an old snow-commander. it was an 84 so not that old but it implanted the seed.

my first truck was an 82 w150 stepside 318 4spd that truck took all the abuse a 16 year old can dish out i sold it after the rear half of the frame disintegrated. i then found a 77 w100 stepside that was bright orange for 500 bucks that the guy couldnt get running

he took the dash apart to put a radio in it and then it wouldnt start and sat for a year and his wife wanted it outta the driveway. i figured it out in about 10 minutes what was wrong n drove it home before he could change his mind lol. i then found another stepside at a used car dealer a 78 warlock 440 with a bad case of cancer it ran great but the body was shot. it took down quite a few mustangs, cameros and assorted winged foriegn cars with this truck.

i sold both those trucks to get the money to buy a 78 w200 adventurer with 360 4spd np203 it was 90 percent rust free. i now cringe when i think of the stuff i put that truck through in the stipcuts, truck pulls, mud bogs and any other horrors i could think of. then enters my best find a 74 w200 sno fiter 360 auto it only had 38000 one owner miles on it. the only real rust issue was the bed the first owner thought putting a sheet of plywood in the bed would be a good idea well it rotted the floor of the bed out well that lead to the end of my well worn 78 it gave it's life to fix up the 74.

the sweptline bug has bit me bad now i've been unable to get my hands on one yet. living in the salt capitol of the world all the ones i find are pretty much parts n maybe a title lol. i know my dream 68 w200 is out there or maybe a pie pan 66 or 67. i guess half the fun is the chase
