We all see the adds for these devices that will reprogram your trucks computer for more power, I was wondering if any one has tried one of these and your impressions. They all promise more power but I would like to know at what cost to fuel mileage. I don't see how you can get more power and better mileage without burning more fuel. I have an '01 3500 HO with the 6 speed and have been happy with this truck which replaced a 96 2500 with an automatic the difference being night and day. I would appreciate any thoughts and experiences anybody has on this subject.

Ron,
I haven't got a new enough Cummins to reprogram the computer but I have seen the results & you can easily boost your power with the right chip.
Talk to a reputable Diesel shop for your options.
As for the fuel economy, yes, they will improve fuel economy but only if you don't use the added power. Most guys end up racing around with their extra 100hp or so & wonder why their fuel economy has actually gotten worse & not better!
