Thanks, fleabag, I should probably get out more...
I saw the 'Birdseye, in' but didn't know that was a location. So, it's Birdseye, IN it is!

That's not a Wagoneer!
It's a Cherokee!
Wish you were closer!
What rear axle does it have, AMC 20 rear or Dana 44?
Can you shoot a pic of that?
Thanks!

You should post this Cherokee over at the International Full Size Jeep Association forum. It will probably sell quick over there.

Yep, it's a Dana 44! So to recap;
You are too far away...= (
The Cherokee is worth more than a Wagoneer.
The Dana 44 is more desireable than the AMC 20.
Your'e doing good,...except you're too far away...= (
Does it run?

Setup a time for this Sunday to go look at this rig.
My wife told me after this no more!
I'm in the process of purchasing a J Truck Cab from Jeff in North Texas.

Welcome to the board!

Plus it's a wide track, which adds more value. And rare factory a/c for a cherokee.
Unfortunately they're still not all that valuable, I sold a loaded 88 wagoneer in excellent driver condition, loaded with a 4" lift and new 33" tires on new wheels a few months ago for $3500. I second the recomendation for ifsja.org, someone there will jump on it.
Just noticed the buyer, guess the ifsja was a good choice!

The big Jeeps are selling dirt cheap right now. Especially the Wagoneers. I just read an ad where a guy has two Wagoneers for sale, one running/one not, for just $600.00 for the pair.
I just picked up a nice 77 Cherokee Chief with factory A/C for $700.00.
These big Jeeps have not caught on yet like the Power Wagons have.

I think the CJ's caught on because they are a unique vehicle with no clearly defined competition. The old broncos & scouts have been gone 30yrs. Blazers,XJ's,Ramcharger's and the jillion other SUV types aren't perceived the same as a CJ Jeep...The little sidekicks, samuris, and trackers are too toy like IMHO..Most ATV's have more balls than them....AS for the waggoneer it suffers from the old AMC mix-match identity that came from using outsourced parts (i.e. torqueflite transmissions,GM powerplants, mopar body panels) on some of their vehicles back in the 60's.Few know anything about non-CJ jeeps and little aftermarket development occurred for these rigs compared to the big three...Just look at the lift kit manufacturers for GM,Ford,Toyota vs what's out there for a waggoneer or J-10. Same for engine mods too. Wagoneers/J-10s are just too unknown to our bipartisan chevy/ford crowd.

Yes, but..Edelbrock has started making intakes and fuel injection manifolds for the 360 AMC motor!
Most parts cross over and many of these trucks are smog exempt due to their age.
These Full Sized Jeeps were surprisingly capable, much more so than ANY faux, poser Jeep built by Chrysler
I still regret selling my '82 Cherokee Laredo, it was the best Jeep I ever owned but the two door model was doomed by CA car seat laws which required children up to 6 years old to be in child seats that were a pain to load and install from over the front seat in a two door model....

Hey P Smith,

Thank You for the warm welcome.
I am Full Size Jeep enthusiast and beg the forgiveness of intruding on the Powerwagon community.
The link to this Cherokee was posted on the IFSJA forum.
I came over here and joined, because I wanted to view the pics that ab9sm had attached this posting.
I would like think that folks like us that own older and somewhat unique vehicles (FSJ, Jeepsters, IH, Powerwagon, etc..) have much more in common than we realize.
While there will prob'y always be those that will want to continue the "Ford vs Chevy" argument, we are all enthusiasts looking for the special ride that fits our styles and tastes.
Around my area, Full Size Jeeps are not common (I resist using the word rare)
Also, Powerwagons, Scouts, Jeepsters are not common.
You just do not see them on the road.
I am very happy there are those us that have different styles and tastes.
If everyone drove around in a FSJ, I would be looking for something else to focus my efforts on.
I like being different and that fact causes enjoy my projects, just that much more.
Also, in forums like this, I tend to meet super nice folks with similar interests, like Lonnie and Jeff.

yep, and many of us cross over. You'll probably recognize me with these photos, but for those that don't think that wagoneers can off-road, I beg to differ.
The wagoneer I just sold because I no longer have time for real trail runs:

And the one I borrow from my buddy when I still want to hit the local trails:

Now I just need to find a nice carryall that I can fit three rows of seats in to carry both sets of twins . . .

It was sad to see that one go. A true RUST FREE NM and AZ car its whole life. Everything worked great on it. And yes, unfortunately that's the one that sold for $3500 after two listings on ebay and weeks on ifsja. Everything in the collector car market, except the top end, is suffering now. Which is why I think its a perfect time for me to pick up a carryall!

The picture in question was on I-25, south of Raton NM, we drove in black ice from Pueblo, CO to Sante Fe, then in snow from there to Flagstaff, it was a great trip!
