M35 Cab Canvas Hoop

I have found a piece of a M35 cab, it has a canvas hoop on the cab think I can cut down to fit my M37, My problem is how do you get it off? The only support seems to be on the base of the post where they insert into the cab sides, there are no bolts or anything I can see holding it in but it won't come out! Any ideas are appreciated.
