I realize that these little star faced mouse-like creatures have nothing to do with Dodges, but when I have to take time out from working/playing with my M-37 in order to control them this is WAR. I know that there are alot of you out there that may know how to control, no better still eliminate them.So far I tried traps, water in their tunnels, and even soap detergent with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions besides hiring a pest control person. I'm at wits end I don't want to wind up like the groundskeeper on CaddyShack blowing up the back yard.

Warren,
I've had some success with wriggley's chewing gum. Chew it a little, drop it in the hole, they can't resist it, chew it andchoke on it! Happy New Year to you & yours.
Hope this helps,

My brother also had success with Wriggleys Gum. He got the idea from a neighbour who's yard looked like a war zone and it worked for him.
Good Luck

Warren,
I just guessin' here, but maybe just moisten the gum and drop it in the hole, save the flavor for the critter?
Or maybe get a friend to chew/moisten it for you?

OK Bruce, I think I'm going to go with the chewing gum. Next question, What flavor spearmint, peppermint, or cinnamon?

If I remember right, my brother used Doublemint, not sure what flavour that is. He just put small piecs in the holes as his moles didnt like pre chewed gum. I wouldnt think the moles would be too fussy as they wouldnt get gum all that often.
Good Luck!!

That is what I used 2 of the three times.
The third time (eight years ago)I bought some "milky spore" don't laugh!! The milky spore hatches, eats the white larva or grubs, when there aren't any grubs, the moles/voles move on or die. I know, it is a little techinical/high brow, but that is what worked in the end. Ask your county extension office?
