Can anyone ID this tractor, I couldn't find a name on it anywhere. It has military type running lights, and under the white civil defense paint is light WWII OD paint. I have an interior shot if it will help. I also have a much better photo but too large to post.
Thanks,
James
PS: the frame is short like a modern tractor, but no provision for a trailer?

Sure looks like a Federal, probably was a dump truck.

James,
It does look like a Federal Model 2G. Is the front axle driven? If not, it looks a lot like the 2 1/2ton 4x2 short wheelbase dumptruck pictured on page 149 of the US Military Wheeled Vehicles book. it says that 1500 were made in 1943-44. It used a Hercules 6 and a 5 speed. It also states "although not intended for tactical off road use, it received a tactical -type front sheetmetal treatment including redesigned hood and fenders, integral brush gaurd (including special provision for a blackout driving light) and a straight bumper."
Any other angles available for us to see?

It looks like a Studebaker. I don't know anything about Studebaker military stuff but I have seen some pictures and the front sheet metal looks what I remember. I'm probably wrong, someone with the right books check it out.

The CCKW came in a tractor version, and also a COE tractor.
There was another that I remember, I think it was a Studebaker, with the extremely long nose. The British used it extensively.

I think it could be a White or a Federal, and just possibly a Reo, but I really feel like its a Federal or White.
