What digital camera do you have, how did you choose it, and what have you discovered about it? If you were going to buy another as a replacement, what would it be?

I first learned photography using hand held meters, and 4x5 inch Speed Graphic view cameras. The cameras used film holders and sheet film. So, I am slow in coming to digital cameras....

My digital camera is a Kodak DC3200. It came as a package deal with a color printer from Wal Mart for about $200. I have hardly used the printer, but have taken many hundreds of digital pictures with the camera. It uses a Compact Flash card, which come in various storage capacities. I buy new cards when old cards get full and keep them as semi-permanent storage. If I ever upgrade my computer to be able to burn my own CD's, I'll transfer the images from the Compact Flash cards and then reuse them.

For really good pictures, I still use a Canon AE-1 35 mm film camera. Now that I can order pictures on CD's when the film is processed, I use it more than the digital. The digital is still very handy for getting quick pictures for e-mails and such.

I also have a Pentax Auto 110 single lens reflex with various lenses. The Auto 110 uses 110 size film cartridges and is very small, but still takes excellent pictures. Since it's so easy to carry along, it goes with me most of the time. Unfortunately, pictures on CD are not offered on 110 size film when it's developed, so all I can get are paper prints with it.

If I bought another digital camera, I believe the Sony camera that uses a 3 1/2 inch floppy disc for storage would be the one for me.

Hi Gordon,
My Digital Camera is a Kodak DX3900 , it was purchased on-line from Costco.com, included docking port and extra chip, for way less than you can buy it anywhere else. That camera is now obsolete (like your brand new computer, ha!ha!) The new and improved Kodak is faster, with better resoution and cheaper! With two 128 photo cards I can take over 600 photographs before having to download, it has a 3x zoom, telephoto lens and I really like it!
