I am selling my M37 in order to get a truck I can run alot of highway miles. Found a Dodge with a Cummins so the M37 is up for sale. It is a 68 Model Without winch but I have an aluminum Braden B1 winch for it. Overall it is a very solid truck and drives very well. Just drove it 100 miles today. Needs a bunch of weatherstripping, speedo cable, work on the guages and some other tinkery things. I can go into more detail if someone is interested. I have the spare tire rack, pioneer tool rack and a WC chassis with 5 combat wheels to go with it as well. Has a hard top on it. All 24V works but the wipers and I will have them working soon. Original type 24V turn signals all working. Currently registered and insured. Call me for a test drive at 607-339 9387......$4000 firm......A steal at this price.
Thanks folks, Mike

Hi Mike,
Sounds like a nice truck, since we are scattered all over the world, it would be helpful to list your location.
Good Luck!

I just put the hardtop on it yesterday. Weather is getting a bit brisk for no top on longer trips. Drove it to deliver parts yesterday....About 100 miles and had a great time. Loading her up with short steel today and tomorrow for a trip to the scrapyard on Saturday or Monday. I figure keeping it working and moving is much better for it than just sitting around being lazy...:>) Here are some pics I just took with the hardtop.

Hah! Sounds nice, but I'm not too close. I'm in Austerlitz, NY. That's right next to the Mass border in Columbia County. I'm right on Route 22, about 100 yards from the intersection of Route 203.

Well it was a nice thought....LOL If I don't sell the M37 then maybe next Summer I will be out that way. Have thought about doing a drive around NY with the ole girl to get some cool pictures and just plain enjoy driving the old truck. I really wish it wasn't so involved and expensive to do the 4BT swap....I really like driving the truck it's just too slow and costs too much to feed the flathead to make my roadtrips anywhere near profitable hauling Suzuki's.
I hear people saying to stay away from the Mercedes diesel swap but I am looking toward it anyway......If an OM617 MBZ diesel can move a Mog around I see no trouble with the M37. I would use the auto tranny from the 300Dt to make the swap simple and reversable back to stock.
Enough of my rambling......Mike

I may just take you up on that one of these days.......I have to make a trip to Maine sometime soon.....Wanting to take the M37 but afraid I can't afford $400 in fuel and oil to get there and back...;>) Wonder how long it would take to drive it through 500 miles of mountains?????? Towing a Sidekick back would be way slower...LOL

Thanks Gordon.......I have had the ole truck up for sale for too long now. Sick and tired of insulting offers to trade for an ATV or the like so I am KEEPING her. $1500 for a 3/4 ton 4wd of any sort is insulting let alone for the M. My M-37 has less rust than most 10 year old trucks, works way harder, has way more personality, and to put it plainly is just a much better built truck......I'm going to do a Diesel swap eventually.......Looking at a 5cyl Deutz air cooled diesel from a 14,500#GVW Iveco box truck.....
That should move it along well.
Thanks again for the place to post the ad......As well as a WONDERFUL source of information!

Mike,
There are more than a handful of guys here who have put the Cummins 4bt into the M37, check out their posts in the "diesel" section. It's real doable and you won't have to re-invent the wheel with that longer 5 cylinder Deutz.

Great news Mike. Glad you didn't weaken and sell your truck for less than it's worth. Offer of lunch and coffee still stands, no expiration date.

Mike:
Ya won't be sorry. Like Norm said, there's a whole lot of folk that went the 4bt route, and from what I gather, it's not that hard a job and there's plenty of materials and help with that swap, not to mention a good/proven power source.

Drove through that area a few weeks ago....I the middle of the night during a rainstorm....Not a good time to stop. Saw the signs for Austerlitz. I'll be sure to put your number in my phone so I can call when I get out that way again. Hopefully with the M37
