I am looking at an auction brochure for the Budd company, of Philadelphia, PA.
Plant closes, everything sells, it says.
Most of you own parts that Budd manufactured, including some cab parts.
Very sad.

The Budd Company certainly goes back to the origins of the automobile industry. Your post is the first that I have heard of it going under. What a sad day for all.

...unless it is a single plant, and they continue with one less.... I am not certain of that possibility.

Look at it one way, Budd hasn't been around for a while... The wheel division was sold a few years back, the rest of the company is part of ThyssenKrupp (part of the reorganized Krupp of Germany that hit the same wall as big steel in the US only earlier...). On the other hand, ThyssenKrupp Budd is still making frames and body parts among other things and the website talks about opening another plant up in Canada...
