Looking for Victor # 49733 seal with S4L2T cross section. Not happy with N.O.S. seals or those made by National or CR. Anybody know who might sell these seals?

Have you tried a bearing house in Cheyenne or maybe Ft. Collins? (I got out my road atlas....)
In addition to auto parts stores, a bearing house is good, and so are big truck transmission and driveline places.

Actually, yes I have looked into the bearing houses here in Cheyenne...both of them. National and CR are the norm, with Garlock being a high end seal but very cost prohibitive. All the auto parts stores seem to carry National, CR or way off-brand, off-shore seals. Still looking though...haven't tried Ft.Fun yet. Denver may be the best bet. Haven't even been able to track down Victor on the Web yet, although I have not given it a whole-hearted attempt.

One thing to consider. if you cross your Victor number to National or Chicago Rawhide, and you have, or have access to a National or CR seal book, you can learn all the dimensions of the seal in question.
You mention that you do not like the seals of those other companies. It may be that you have not seen the other seals in a dimensional family that are better.
One time I was at a driveline house, and asked for a seal. I provided them a sample, they measured it, went to the back, and returned with their answer.
I removed it from the box, looked at it, and said it was clearly not satisfactory (that is a polite summary of my remarks), and asked why do they even sell something this flimsy? It looked much more fragile, was much thinner, and did not meet my requirements.
The guy got out the big book, used the proper section, and showed me that he could get me about four or five seals that all would work, some of them being much better. Various lip profiles, lip materials, multiple or single lips, quite an array of alternatives.
Your reference to the S4L2T cross section seems to be a specific identity along these lines. Perhaps those who crossed your Victor number were liberal in their interpretations, and brought you the lesser seal.
They ordered me the seal I liked and it worked very well. You might give that approach a try.
Let me know how you do....

We got out the book at NAPA and none of their seals offer the cross section I'm looking for. I found the cross section I want in an older Victor catalog but have been unable to find a distributor. I will try to keep everyone up to speed on my progress. The Victor seal has, what I consider to be, a better double lip design.
I have a seal that I use in my rebuild kits that cross over to your Victor 49733 or Chicago Rawhide 21213. It fits the transission or transfers. They are double lipped, with a back side, priced at $6.00 ea+ s&h. dc

I have used the CR/NAPA 21213 seal. While it is billed as a double lipped seal and does cross from the Victor number, it does not have the same cross section as the Victor 49733. Thanks for your reply!
