The story

The farmer that I get hay from has a Lathe,
he also does some machining for me, but can't now
as he needs bearings for the lathe.

Do you know where to find these bearings
ND 0214-B bearing
NM 0214 race

20111 A 5 2 bearing

these are for an Hendi Lathe

If you have one of these where do you get parts
do you have these bearings

I know nothing about these things so am in bad need of help

Thanks

Hi Fred,
I don't know much about that lathe, but if there is King Bearing or other similar bearing supplier in the area, it will be easy to cross reference those numbers. I hate to say that it sounds like a drive into the "big city".

Norm,
got a number for King bearing there

He has tried in Tucson and some where else with no luck for some reason

I have started asking around cause I need some bushings made,
and don't want to drive to the big city my self .

seems they are odd bearings

My uncle is a retired machinist that repaired lathes. I have sent him a link, and will let you know if he finds anything out.

Try Bearing Distributors & Drives, Inc. at Charlotte, N.C. phone: 1-800-532-0494. Ask for Summer, she is very knowledgeable. I do all my bearing, seal business here.

Below is my uncle's response. I hope this helps.

"Terry:

This is a Hendey Lathe and was mfg in Torrington Connecticut. I think around
Hartford. They have been out of business since the early 60s. They were
bought up, then shut down for tax purposes. We had a Salesman in the late
60s who was very bitter what happened to this company.

These people also need to find the Machine Serial # as well as the size and
type. Most likely stamped in the bed. Could also be a data Tag. LeBlond
always stamped the Serial # in the Front side, Tailstock end the serial #.
(ie) 3NK 222. The 3 told you the version or design, the NK told you the size
3220. 32 " swing of the Bed, 20" swing over the Carriage. the # 222 would
tell you this was the 222nd machine of this version manufactured.

Do you know where to find these bearings
ND 0214-B bearing -- I would say this is a New Departure Bearing. The B on
this Bearing # should indicate this is a Flanged Cup. These are most likely
a Tapered Bearing

NM 0214 race I would also say this is a New Departure Bearing. This part
may be the race.

20111 A 5 2 bearing This may well be a bearing mfg for Hendey. May be a
Torrington Brg.

Try any bearing house in the area. Around the mid west you will find Berry
Bearing, Bearings Inc to name a couple.
