2 good looking trucks.
I like the lighter shade of canvas. That really makes the paint stand out.
I also like the OD canvas on the military sand color. I love that contrast.

The truck will remain topless until I need it to plow or travel thru snow then it's back to full canvas. While it is topless I enjoy windscreen down driving on local (back) roads but the police require me to drive with it raised on public highways. Still it's a blast driving with no top and watching the reaction of all those curious SUV drivers who wonder, I am sure, what the *#%+ is that? Carter

Funny you should mention SUV drivers. I had my M-37 at Sonic Drive-In last summer, and I had added "D-O-D-G-E" script letters (painted OD green over the chrome of course) to the hood from an old D-100 'cause I got tired of folks asking, "What year is your Jeep?" (They still asked.) Anyway, some clown came over from his bright shiny silver HUMMER H2 and asked if Dodge was trying to "copy something" insinuating Dodge wanted a Hummer (?). I said, "Excuse me? Are you asking about my 1951 Dodge???" (With a smirk) I continued to talk with a friend and watched him look my truck over and then leave.
Gosh, come to think of it, I never did return the favor and go look at his Hummer...

Are parts pretty easy to come buy in Austrailia?? Just curious how many Military trucks were over there and how easy is it for you to find what you need. Those are two prime examples of GREAT winch models!! Tear it apart and reshoot it... why?? It looks great now!

Back in the 50's Australia got a handfull of Dodge power wagons and We also got about half a dozen M37's for our army to trial,(we ended up going with the Humber 1 ton truck).
So really anything to do with the truck comes from the US, I even went as far to get my truck from Tennessee, and load it with goodies prior to shipping.
So ppppllllease when advertising on Ebay let us Aussies bid Too !!!
thanks for your comment on the trucks,( I still want to pull down and respray , i can't help myself
Included is a pic of my Ferret....

Well ain't that the cutest little thing I've never seen!! Do you have to wind it up, or push down and drag it backwards for a few feet to get it to go forward?!? : )
There's a similar looking thing I've seen at some of the Military Museums over here. Used mostly by MPs in Vietnam. Little armored thing, must not have been too effective as they didn't stick around for 18 years like the M-37 did!
We'll keep all you Aussies in mind if we have parts, I'll bet they're highly sought after by you guys. Then again, your truck doesn't look like it needs very much! I need more than you do!

My wife says it is a cute thing,,,,I tend to think military vehicles age like computers, they get updated all the time, And the Ferret was made from 1951 to 1972 and has been superseded twice to date, and some armies still use them !.
It even went to Iraq in 1991, not bad for a military vehicle 30+ years old, some would say better service to its maker than the good old M37.

Nice looking M37 and Ferrett. Are there many M37's about down under?
Dana, Your talking about the V100 armored car. They were used by MP's in Vietnam and they did stick around in the US inventory until the mid-80's mostly used for weapons depot protection by Marine Quick Reaction Forces.
PS they were fitted with a 361 Chrysler and a NP 540 transmission so that makes them partly Mopar.

There were about 6 vehicles sent to Australia for trials in the 50's or 60's that our Army didn't go ahead with.
I believe a chap in South australia brought some vehicles in from the Israel Army, but really I know of only 6 vehicles running around today.
I tried to buy one of a guy in Sydney who has 2 but he wasn't interested in selling, so i must like the trucks a lot as i imported one from Tenneessee myself.
.
A classic mthrax i rekon.

MonkeyMan from the old BigElectric days had one that came from a US listening station. Forget which one at the moment.
He converted his to right hand drive. He is located in Tasmania.

The truck came from Church Hill TN, I bought it from a Fireman who was very helpfull and that was appreciated since i found this truck from the big electric forum and purchased it online and first saw it for real when i opened the shipping container.

That's funny, I thought I was the one who met a top bloke LOL
Hope you enjoyed the ride and I'll make sure next time we meet there's a cold beer or three just waiting for you :-)

Newest version of the old armored recon car used by select MP units. Nice vehicle, M2HB and MK19 mounted in turret with day and night scopes.

3Dot,
I think that the ASV contract was scaled back when the army decided to purchase the Styker vehicles.
I have a mpeg file of one of them firing the smoke grenade launchers.

took a run up the coast in the m37 to pick up my new ww2 trailer for the jeep, as it was about to go in an auction in Tamworth NSW soon.
Now to finish the jeep.

Ah yes, this does look like the sort of item sought by the common and quite peacful species Bruceus beerabsorbus (pictured below trailer) that is most frequently found around olive drab vehicles, bmx bikes and of course fresh cold beer - although it has been recorded that they can break their bones quite effortlessly they are in general quite hardy, fond of food and of course the opposite gender.
Another point is that they are easily distracted and trapped into long conversations using a combination of military vehicles and beer.......
A fascinating animal really.............LOL
Sorry Bruce - couldn't resist

Mr. Mc Cann seems to be related to me, or vice-versa? As for the trained Monkey, he might be the missing link? Trailer looks like a nice addition Bruce!
