I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn up the idle on the pump. I replaced the throttle cable that was useless and made me feel a little stupid after wrestling that thing in there. I can't find anywhere to adjust the thing by way of linkage so there must be a way. It is low enough that if the truck is even a little cold " 5min idle" it will kill if I let off the trottle quickly under load. about 600 rpm. This is the early 98 before the electronic 24valve.

Farmer,
I don't no the answer, but I do know a great bunch of guys that may on another site. www.snowplowcontractors.com
Look under the Dodge, or the Diesel section on the index page.
The man to talk to who happens to be one of the moderators is Chris (wyldman) .
Hope this helps,

Farmer,
Your P7100 inline pump has a idle screw at the back side of the pump (closest to the fire wall) it is in a tough spot as the fuel filter is close by.
It has a 10mm lock nut and a 10mm adjusting bolt head. The engine has to be off to adjust. Bring the bolt up to raise the idle. Snug lock nut and start engine. Check idle and if at 750 rpm your good to go.

thanks mark!
I did get it turned up and it feels like a new truck. pretty hard to get at but once you figure out where to stick your hands it's not too bad.
