Who out there has any of these trucks then?
I have a 1939 TD20 pickup, ex-army, and I've just bought a WD 21 panel van to rebuild.
I know Dave Fenner need a few of the 1939/40 small axle caps, so anyone have any for sale or trade?

Gordon, I bought a WD21 about 5 or 6 months ago in Manitoba and I'm just waiting for the trucking company to get a load together for this area of British Columbia. Unfortunately it doesn't have the original box, but a 9 ft. from a later Fargo. I'll have a better idea what to do with it, if anything, once it gets here. They are such cool old trucks that I just couldn't resist. You know the routine...

Eric Bannerman has a couple of leads on long bed boxes. trouble is the best one is bolted to an otherwise very restorable truck.
Ask Townwagon Eric though, just in case.

I'm in the final throes of restoring a '40 VD-21. I also have a '40 VD-15, highly modified for use as a mobile home transporter - it has a long block flathead 6 with Clark 5-speed and dually rear end. I also have a '40 VD-20 parts truck, a '45 WC 1/2 ton blackout truck and a '47 WD-15 parts truck. There are several more old trucks in my stable.

I just traded a 1964 Ford F-500 for a '46 or '47 Dodge 1 ton pick-up.It is mostly there except for headlights, cab floor, tailgate, and some other small stuff. It does not have an ID tag on door post so I'm going to look at the frame when I get a chance. The company name on the door is from Illinois. How it got to Northeast Ohio is beyond me.Also for the trade I got an old twin line wrecker assembly that I'm going to put on my 1947 WDX PowerWagon.:D

Congradulations on your trade, you stepped up in the world!
I did find your quote humorous though. I guess it is my western perspective about distance, vs. your eastern perspective. The distance you talk about is in the neighborhood of 240 miles, to drive across the county that I live in is a 250 mile drive, of course San Bernardino county is larger than about 23 eastern states, but only one of 50 or so counties within CA.
I know guys in west Texas that drive further for a cup of coffee in the morning! ha!ha!
Some guys will drive their PW 450 miles ONE WAY, for next months California Rally, so you can easily make Iowa someday with your restored truck.
Have a great time with your new truck!
