I've been a mopar fan since I was able to slide down off the seat and operate the clutch in G'pa's D200. I have a decent chunck of change saved up for a crew cab ONLY old dodge truck, '61-71 preffered. It needs to be nice, and it is for my family, and just all around FUN. We will soon be a family of four, and a four door is the only option wifey will allow, but I am happy, at least I get the truck. Can anyone help me out, I just sold my 61 IMperial to do this, and it is full steam ahead. I am a true MOPAR enthusiast, who will put the right TLC into this machine, no worries. No to very little rust is a must, I am not a body guy...yet. Rich, 4148817424. I thank anyone who can help me out, this is the only site I believe can help.
Cheers.

When I first started this hobby/ obsession I thought the world would run out of dodges before I could get one. I would buy anything I could get my hands on. Something better or closer or cheaper would magically appear right after I took delivery. I missed out on a SWEET W400 right near by for a great price, I was short of cash because of my prior need for immediate gratification. good trucks pop up all the time. your in the right place, good bunch of guys here. Welcome

Rich,
Not sure where your located but heres one in Sacramento that caught my eye.....74 Ute is right...be patient, they do seem to pop up right close by after you've made a long distance purchase. I almost bought my first one halfway across the country and then one popped up 2 towns away. Good luck and here's the link.....

Have you been to Scott's site, sweptline dot org? They are mainly 61-71 enthusiasts. Lotsa 2wd and 4wd info there. Less military stuff than here.
Also moparnorm has a site dodgesweptline dot org that's handy.
Most of us Dodge folk lurk on all these sites time to time.

Gordon publishes a magazine with classifieds that reach Power Wagon owners who are off the net. might be some gems in your area.

You guys have been great, KevinM thanks for the info. I called the guy and we talked for about 30 minutes, very informative for me at least being a "newbie" so to speak with vintage 4x4 Dodge drivetrains. They all seem simple at least to work on if anything heads south. He was telling me he hasn't had much time to get it on the road after assembling the 4x4, and without adjustment. He said on his 70, some times the transfercase jumps into Nuetral if he really gets on it, and that it can be adjusted. Is this true, or is this a sign of things to come. Everything else seems to check out.

Jumping into neutral could be wear in the unit. It may be that it needs a adjustment but when buying something, espically when the seller tells you about it be prepared for the worst case.

I am loving this stuff!!! I have been thinking, I like the WDX body style better with the split front bumpers and center winch. They just look tough. After looking through images, I find that the WM 300, and the C 3 PW have the same body style and carry into the sixties as far as manufacturing. I am deducing things here and there on maybe one name was for one era, and the others for subsequent models. ANyways, I was thinking of buying one of these and putting an old Peterbilt style sleeper on it for the young'ns. Has anyone tried this yet??

If you like the WDX style PW your prayers have been answered......plenty of room for all the youngin's.....finding one of these could be a problem though!
